Text Document DOIs
DOE OSTI assigns DOIs to some text-based product types upon submission to E-Link. Developed and maintained by OSTI, E-Link is the corporate system for collecting research outputs and records of DOE-funded research and development (R&D) from DOE national laboratories and financial assistance recipients (awardees/grantees).
- DOIs are automatically assigned to DOE-funded technical reports, workshop reports, conference posters, and presentations submitted to OSTI through E-Link, unless a DOI has already been assigned.
- DOIs assigned to reports and conference research are registered with Crossref.
- DOIs are assigned to make reports and conference research more discoverable, enabling reuse and facilitating standard, consistent citation of the information.
OSTI became a member of Crossref in 2005 to assign DOIs to DOE-funded technical reports. Crossref is a not-for-profit membership organization that works to make research outputs easy to find, cite, link, access, and reuse. Crossref provides DOI services as a registration agency of the DOI Foundation.
