Rapid, solid phase radioimmunoassay for prostaglandin F/sub 2/. cap alpha. and its main circulating metabolite. [Tritium tracer technique]

Journal Article · · Anal. Biochem.; (United States)
Antibodies directed against prostaglandin F/sub 2/..cap alpha.. and its main circulating metabolite, 13,14-dihydro-15-keto-prostaglandin F/sub 2/..cap alpha.., were insolubilized by reaction with ethylchloroformate. Suspensions of insolubilized antibodies retained immunogenic activity and were useful for the development of a simple and rapid solid phase radioimmunoassay for these two prostaglandins. Using this method, suppression of prostaglandin levels by the influence of indomethacin in vivo has been observed. Advantages of solid phase radioimmunoassay over current procedures are discussed.
