Last year's formation of Siemens Power Corp. from several separate Siemens entities was intended to create a more fully integrated company. Now, as part of efforts to capture a larger share of the worldwide power generation market and to strengthen its position in the United States, Siemens Power Corp. is making advances in technology and manufacturing capacity. In the past several months Siemens has taken a number of steps toward its goal, announcing several new contract awards, expansion plans for its manufracturing sites and a lower nitrogen oxide (NO[sub x]) emissions level for one of its gas turbines.
