New gas turbine manufacturing facilities at Ansaldo
Ansaldo Energia is a major supplier of power plants. The company designs and builds power stations of all kinds - steam fossil-fired, gas turbine and combined-cycle, hydroelectric, geothermal, and nuclear as well as desalination plants - supplied both as turnkey, or separate modules. In order to meet the challenge of increasing market competitiveness, the company has undergone a major reorganization and invested heavily over the last four years in human resources, advance technologies and new products. The new layout was set up so as to best combine manufacturing processes and product lines. This meant having centers of precision machining to manufacture complete flange-to-flange gas turbines. The investment, specific to gas turbine components only, was in excess of US $20 million. The company produces all of Siemens production gas turbines and is in the process of adding the jointly developed V64.3A machine. The company now has consolidated design experience and exclusive manufacturing facilities to build advanced gas turbines. Ansaldo shares experience and technology with Siemens, to bring power, performance, reliability and low environmental impact to some of the most advanced heavy-duty gas turbines in the world market.
