Magnetic moments of multiquark systems and bounds on the admixture of the six-quark component in the deuteron wave function

We calculate the magnetic moment of a six-quark bag with quantum numbers of a deuteron in the chiral bag model taking into account gluon and pion corrections. The value of the magnetic moment is M/sup 6//sup q//sub D/ = 1.17--1.23 nuclear magnetons for the six-quark bag radius R/sub 6//sub q/ = 1.18--1.38 F which corresponds to the nucleon bag radius R/sub 3//sub q/ = 0.8--1.0 F. This result and data on the magnetic moment of the deuteron put a limit on the admixture of a six-quark bag in the deuteron, P/sub B/approx. <3%. This value is several times smaller than the probability of finding the two nucleons in a region r<1.4 F, and it can be interpreted as an indication that the effective bag in the deuteron is very different from the MIT bag.
