Method of compound quark bags: quark corrections to the static characteristics of the deuteron

We calculate the corrections from an admixture of six-quark bags to the static multipole moments of the deuteron. These corrections are determined mainly by the radius b of the equivalent hadron bag. The quark corrections are most important in the calculation of the quadrupole moment of the deuteron and are approx. <10% for b = 1.4 F and a D-wave admixture in the deuteron P/sub D/--4 --4.5%.
