Coke made from hydrolysis lignin

Journal Article · · Coke Chem., USSR (Engl. Transl.); (United States)

The physicochemical properties of coke made from hydrolysis lignin (wood waste) are discussed with reference to the effects of the direction of heat flow, the finishing temperature, and the carbonizing rate. Coke made from lignin briquettes is similar in properties to wood charcoal. A coke production system is described, with data to show that lignin coke is a cost-effective reducing agent for ferroalloys production.
