An investigation on the use of pyrolized briquettes of hydrolysis lignins from the production of carbonaceous reducing agents was presented. Also, the effects of the composition of the hydrolysis lignins and the condition of heating of the lignin briquettes on the chemical properties of the coke were studied. It was concluded that the coke produced from the hydrolysis lignins had adequately high specific electrical resistance, strength, porosity, and reaction capacity, and a low yield of volatile matter.
