Four acidizing treatments were used in a stimulation program in Jake L. Hamon's No. 1 Waples Platter--currently the world's deepest producer. The first 2 treatments used 11,000 gal of retarded hydrochloric-acetic acid mixture with special additives and nitrogen. The acid was flushed with slickened fresh water. The third treatment consisted of 50,000 gal of mixed acid. Additives included a chelating agent, friction reducers, and 300 scf ND2U per bbl of treating fluid. The well was flushed with slickened water containing nitrogen and a foaming agent. The fourth treatment used 150,000 gal of a completely new acid product especially designed and formulated by the Western Co. for this job. It was designed for extended reaction time and continuous diversion throughout the vertical interval of pay section. Present stabilized deliverability of the well is greater than 20 MMcfd.
