This third volume of a series emphasizes the incorporation of passive solar features into the structure of a new home. Construction drawings, design rules and written descriptions provide the homeowner, designer, and builder with information necessary for the design and construction of an efficient, energy-saving passive solar home. Site selection, energy conservation, glazing, thermal storage, heat distribution and summer overheating prevention are discussed in detail with emphasis on practical aspects. Plans are included for 16 passive solar homes with descriptions of the important features for each home.
