Synergistic killing of bacteria and phage by polystyrene and ultraviolet radiation

Far-ultraviolet (254 nm) irradiation of bacteria and bacteriophage in polystyrene containers resulted in lower number of survivors, compared with irradiation in glass containers. This effect was not observed with near UV (300-400 nm) irradiation.
