Data are compiled for electric utilities in the contiguous 48 states, Alaska, American Samoa, Canal Zone, Guam, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands. Data from private power companies, local publicly owned systems, municipal utilities, public utility districts (other state and county systems), rural electrics, and Federal power agencies are included. Number of customers, kWh sales and generation, electric operating revenues, net electric plant investment, and installed-capacity data are tabulated. Specifically, data for the largest 15 local publicly owned electric systems are tabulated. Organizations of local publicly owned systems and state associations are listed. Data on the 8 Federal power agencies are detailed. (MCW)
