Correlations of secondary pions produced in multinucleon interactions of. pi. /sup -/ mesons with carbon nuclei at p = 40 GeV/c

Correlations functions have been obtained for two-particle and three-particle inclusive processes in ..pi../sup -/p, ..pi../sup -/n, and ..pi../sup -12/C collisions at p = 40 GeV/c. The correlations of secondary pions are studied both in rapidity and in azimuthal angle. The experimental results are compared with predictions of the eikonal model and the additive quark model.
