Azimuthal correlations of. pi. /sup +/. pi. /sup -/ pairs in pion-nucleus and pion-nucleon interactions at 40 GeV/c

Data are presented on azimuthal correlations of ..pi../sup +/..pi../sup -/ pairs produced in pion-nucleon and pion-nucleus interactions for the central and fragmentation regions as functions of the number of intranuclear collisions. The results are compared with the predictions of the additive quark model.
