Influence of pitch impregnations on the properties of graphites from compositions with different amounts of binder

The influence of impregnations with hard-coal pitch of baked material prepared from batches of the VPP type and medium-temperature pitch on the optimum amount of binder in the initial molding composition has been investigated. It has been shown that impregnation with pitch broadens the interval of binder contents at which the physicomechanical characteristics of the graphitized material reach their maximum levels.
