Influence of the type of pitch binder on the formation of the properties of fine-grained graphites

The results are given of an investigation of the properties of fine graphites prepared by the use as binder of medium- and high-temperature hard-coal pitches. The use of the high-temperature pitch leads to the production of a stronger material but one having a less perfect crystalline structure.
