Ohio gas users to switch to No. 2 oil: state DOE

Journal Article · · Energy User News; (United States)
OSTI ID:6314829
A survey of Ohio's natural-gas users indicates a switching trend to No. 2 fuel oil as prices reach parity. Many will use No. 2 for both process use and heating. Most of the market will shift to No. 6 oil, but lower prices will make clean-burning No. 2 attractive to small industrial users. The survey notes that gas prices must rise another 20% and oil prices must hold or fall for the trend to continue beyond the end of the year. (DCK)
