Pipelines cut rates to slow user oil switches

Journal Article · · Energy User News; (United States)
OSTI ID:6224966
Natural gas pipelines are lowering their prices because of a drop in demand and their fear that industrial users will increasingly switch to No. 6 fuel oil. Firms that cannot switch to oil have been especially hard hit by rising gas prices, but gas companies with captive markets are less likely to use incentive prices to retain customers. (DCK)
