Eleven witnesses from the automobile, banking, and synthetic fuels industries as well as federal agencies testified at a two-day hearing on the use of methanol fuel as an alternative to gasoline and diesel fuels. At issue is the problem of commercialization when then is neither the market nor the infrastructure for methanol on a national scale.
