Energy development in the Rocky Mountain region: goals and concerns

This report contains three volumes relating to energy development in the Rocky Mountain region. Volume 1 contains three regional energy statements issued in 1975 by the Natural Resources Council; the Federation of Rocky Mountain States governors' assistants; and the governors of the Federation states together with the governors of North and South Dakota, Nebraska, Arizona and Nevada. Volume 2 summarizes data currently in use by state, federal and private business officials, and attempts to define the region's energy sources, the development of which is expected to significantly affect the states in the Rocky Mountain West. Volume 3 includes background documents on such issues related to energy development as economic effects; social problems; balancing resource development with environmental protection; responsibilities of the states, the federal government and industry; legal questions and alternatives; and a review of federal energy research and development policy.
