Houston-based surfcote begins operations at new pipe coating plant

The new Surfcote Inc. plant offers a complete range of coating materials, application services, and pipe treatment, handling and storage. Initial operations at the new location include fusion bond epoxy coating and conventional coat and wrap utilizing either coal tar or asphalt enamels. Surfcote will apply Mapec pipe coating, a three-element system designed for projects where difficult transportation and construction conditions are anticipated. Other coating include Pritec, an extruded polyolefin pipe coating system and Prilo-K, a pipe insulation system that offers a choice of design options, including polyurethane foam thickness, density and compressive strengths.
