Analysis of the reaction pp. -->. pp. pi. /sup +/. pi. /sup -/ at 4 GeV/c in the Reggeized one-pion exchange model

A liquid-hydrogen bubble chamber has been used to study the reaction pp..-->..pp..pi../sup +/..pi../sup -/ at 4.0 GeV/c. 7920 events of this reaction were selected. The contributions of the channels with production of ..delta../sup + +/ (1236) and ..delta../sup 0/(1236) isobars to the cross section for the pp..-->..pp..pi../sup +/..pi../sup -/ reaction were determined. The distributions in mass, momentum transfer, and c.m.s. longitudinal and transverse momenta of the secondary particles from the reaction pp..-->..pp..pi../sup +/..pi../sup -/ are compared with the predictions of the Reggeized one-pion exchange model.
