Study of associated production of. delta. /sup + +/ and. delta. /sup 0/ isobars in the reaction pp. -->. pp. pi. /sup +/. pi. /sup -/ at 4 GeV/c

The reaction pp ..-->.. ..delta../sup + +/..delta../sup 0/ is studied using data on 7920 events of the reaction pp ..-->.. pp..pi../sup +/..pi../sup -/ at 4 GeV/c. The technique for isolating events of the reaction pp ..-->.. ..delta../sup + +/..delta../sup 0/ is discussed in detail. The momentum transfer distributions and ..delta..-isobar decay angular distributions are analyzed for the events selected. The experimental data are compared to the predictions of the Reggeized one-pion exchange model and with the data available in the literature.
