This patent describes a composite structure including a film of high temperature ceramic superconductor material and a substrate having an upper major surface and one or more semiconductor devices formed therein. It comprises depositing the superconductor material on the upper major surface of the substrate to form a thin layer; depositing a reflective layer on the upper surface of the substrate; wherein at least a portion of the layer of superconductor material and the reflective layer are nonoverlapping, and a portion of the layer of superconductor material is exposed; and annealing the superconductor material by application of radiant energy to the upper surface of the substrate.
