Inclusive production of large transverse momentum. pi. /sup 0/ mesons

The inclusive production of ..pi../sup 0/ mesons at 90/sup 0/ from proton-proton collisions has been measured at the CERN ISR at center-of-mass energies of 30.6, 52.7, and 62.4 GeV, and transverse momentum between 6 and 12 GeV/c. At these values of P/sub T/, the inclusive cross section is found to be above the extrapolation from previous lower P/sub T/ data in the range 3 to 6 GeV/c.
