Synthesis and study of materials for superconducting electronics. Final report, 15 October 1987-14 October 1988

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:5139813

Thin films of BiSrCaCuO superconductor were made by rf magnetron sputtering onto sapphire and MgO substrates. The use of MgO substrates produced better films. Good tunnel junctions were fabricated using YBa{sub 2}Cu{sub 3}O{sub 7} films with Pb counter electrodes. No gap was seen for the YBCO film. Critical field anistropy was studied in single crystals of YBCO and NdBa{sub 2}Cu{sub 3}O{sub 7}. Measurements of the Fermi-liquid effects in Ga and V were completed.
