The shell model with intermediate coupling is used to calculate the wave functions and decay characteristics of the dipole giant resonance in the /sup 11/B nucleus. The results of the theoretical calculation are compared with experimental data on the total cross sections of the (..gamma..,p) and (..gamma..,n) reactions in /sup 11/B and with data on the partial cross sections of the reactions /sup 11/B(..gamma..,p) with formation of the final /sup 10/Be nucleus in the 3.37-MeV state and /sup 11/B(..gamma..,n) with formation of the final /sup 10/B nucleus in the 1.74- and 3.59-MeV states.
