The influence of dipole-dipole and quadrupole-quadrupole forces on the properties of the giant dipole resonance in {sup 8}Be

The cross sections of the reactions {sup 8}Be({gamma},p){sup 7}Li, {sup 8}Be({gamma}, p{sub o}){sup 7}Li, {sup 8}Be{sup *}(E{sup *}=3.04 MeV)({gamma},p){sup 7}Li, and {sup 8}Be{sup *}(E{sub *}=3.04 MeV)({gamma},p{sub o}){sup 7}Li are calculated on the basis of the dynamic semimicroscopic model. The role of dipole-dipole and quadrupole-quadrupole forces in the formation and decay of the giant dipole resonance in the {sup 8}Be nucleus is analyzed. It is shown that the position of the giant resonance in light nuclei is strongly affected not only by dipole-dipole, but also by quadrupole-qaudrupole forces. 14 refs., 6 figs., 1 tab.
