Journal Article · · Energy Detente; (USA)
OSTI ID:5068498
Within mere months of the catastrophic oil spill in Alaska this year, there is much heightened international commitment to maximizing both prevention and cleanup efforts. In the US, the boldest source of the push comes from the American Petroleum Institute, whose findings and general proposals are the subject of this issue. Included is the statement of Jack Costello, President of the newly forming PIRO Implementation Incorporated, a Washington DC based oil spill response organization to the California State Assembly, Select Committee on Spill Prevention, Nov. 8, 1989. This double issue also contains the following: (1) ED Refining Netback Data Series for the US Gulf and West Coasts, Rotterdam, and Singapore as of December 1 and December 15, 1989; and (2) ED Fuel Price/Tax Series for countries of both the Western and Eastern Hemispheres, December 1989 Editions. 2 figs., 10 tabs.
