THE EFFECT OF Cr$sup 51$ ON YOSHIDA ASCITES SARCOMA CELLS

>On the 4th day after implantation of Yoshida ascites cell sarcoma, 200 mu c and 100 mu c of Cr/sup 51/(Na/sub 2/Cr/sup 51/O/sub 4/) were i njected into the abdominal cavity of rats, and cytological study on the tumor was performed. The cells in the ascites were fixed in methanol and stained with Giemsa stain. Cell division was inhibited by the injection of Cr/sup 51/. The more radioactive the injected Cr/sup 51/, the more inhibited was the bitosis. The cells in the prophase and metaphase were decreased, but, on the other hand, the number of the abnormal cells was remarkably increased. (Abstr. Japan Med., 1: No. 10, 1961)
