Journal Article · · Nichidai Igaku Zasshi (Japan)
OSTI ID:4804569

Co/sup 60/ needles were placed in the soft tissue of the abdominal wall of rats having Yoshida ascites sarcoma. When 8 mc of Co/sup 60/ were set for 24 hours, the mitosis of sarcoma cells was definitely reduced more when radiation was given 1 to 2 days after the transplantation than when given 3 to 4 days after that. After irradiation, mitotic cells in the prophase decreased in the relatively early stage when radiation was given 1 to 2 days after the transplantation. The recovery from the injury also appeared considerably delayed. (Abstr. Japan Med., 2: No. 5, May 1962).
