EFFECTS OF OX SUBSTANCE ON THE MITOTIC PHASE AND DNA IN SUBCUTANEOUS YOSHIDA SARCOMA CELLS

Journal Article · · Okayama Igakkai Zasshi (Japan)
OSTI ID:4817008

ABS>When 0.2 ml of OX substance (unsaturated fatty acid extracted from x irradiated rabbits) was injected into subcutaneously transplanted Yoshida sarcoma tissue, reduction of chromophile, loss of clarity of cell boundary, and increasing necrotic areas were observed histologically. About 6 to 12 hours after injection, the number of mitotic phases decreased, but recovered about 24 hours after injection. The quantity of DNA in cells was approximately parallel to the number of mitotic phases. (Abstr. Japan Med., 2: No. 5, May 1962).
