INFLUENCE OF UNSATURATED FATTY ACID EXTRACTED FROM X-IRRADIATED RABBITS ON SUCCINIC ACID DEHYDRIC ENZYME ACTIVITY IN INTRAMUSCULARLY TRANSPLANTED YOSHIDA SARCOMA CELLS

When the extracted substance from x irradiated rabbits (OX substance) was injected directly into the intramuscularly transplanted Yoshida sarcoma cells, the activity of the dehydric enzyme was reduced and very slowly recovered with the lapse of time. However, if OX substance were injected into normal muscular tissue near the tumor, the reduction of activity was quickly restored. Histochemically, large central necrosis, increased bionecrotic changes, and proliferative cell production was seen after injection of OX substance into tumor tissue. After the intravenous injection of OX substance, the enzyme activity in tumor tissue in which early necrotic change occurred increased considerably. (Abstr. Japan Med., 2: No. 5, May 1962).
