Gamma transitions in Xe/sup 128/ following decay of the 25-min I/sup 128/ were studied using coincidence techniques. Directional correlation measurements for the 567-kev-439-kev cascade were taken at six angles in each quadrant (every 15 deg from 90 to 165 deg ), and the corrected expansion coefficients were found to be A/sub 2/ = -0.180 plus or minus 0.028 and A/sub 4/ = +0.269 plus or minus 0.047. Conversion electrons corresponding to these gamma transitions were observed in a magnetic spectrometer. These measurements confirmed the existence of excited states at 439 kev (2+) and 1006 kev (2+). The spectrograph measurements show tentative evidence for a 0+ excited state at 1016 kev which is de-excited by weak transitions to the first excited state and to the ground state. (auth)
