EXCITED STATES OF Xe$sup 128$. Sect. VIII of RESEARCH IN THE FIELD OF NUCLEAR SPECTROSCOPY

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4110994
Gamma transitions in Xe/sup 128/ following decay of the 25-min I/sup 128/ were studied using coincidence and directionalcorrelation techniques. Conversion electrons corresponding to these gamma transitions were observed in a magnetic spectrometer. The measurements confirmed the existence of excited states at 441 kev (2+) and 1008 kev (2+). Tentative evidence was found for a O+ excited state at 1019 kev which is de-excited by a gamma transition to the first-excited state and by an internally converted crossover to the ground state.
