The level structure of /sup 128/Xe has been studied by means of the reaction /sup 126/Te(..cap alpha..,2n..gamma..)/sup 128/Xe and the in-beam gamma-ray spectroscopic method. The level scheme is established on the basis of gamma-ray singles spectra, gamma-gamma coincidences and gamma-ray angular distribution measurements. Six new energy levels at 2338, 2547, 2961, 3189, 3343, and 3636 keV are presented. The collective states are compared with the calculation of the Interaction Boson Model. Excitation energies of two-quasi-particle states have been calculated in the framework of the semiempirical shell model
