EFFECT OF X-IRRADIATION ON THE GROWTH AND MORPHOLOGY OF EHRLICH'S ASCITES CARCINOMA CELLS

The minimal x-ray dose to cause complete inhibition of transplantability was found to be 3500 r. The 50% transplantability dose was 1500 r in the ascites type of carcsnoma. The tumor cells were edematous enlarged after irradiation with the small dose, When the large dose was given, reduction of cell size. degeneration, and vacuolization were found. The endoplasmie reticulum was destroyed after even the small dose of irradiation, (Abstr. Japan Med., 2; No. 3, March l962)
