A Cherenkov detector apparatus is designed for detecting fission products in a reactor coolant, e.g,, liquid or highpressure gases. The coolant is caused to flow through a sampling circuit with a fiow delay naeans whereby only the longer lived fission products and not N/sup 16/ are detected. (D.L.C.)
