ENVIRONMENTAL RADIOACTIVITY IN DENMARK 1961

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4818972
Results are reported from measurements of fall-out radioactivity in Denmark in 1961. Sr-90 was determined in samples of soil, milk, vegetables, potatoes, grain, ground water, total food, and human bone collected throughout the country. Strontium-90 was also determined in local samples of air, rain water, sea water, grass, sea plants, bread, animal bone, and human milk. In the autumn a survey of the I-131 content of the Danish milk was carried out. Initial measurements of Sr-90 and Cs-137 in samples collected on Greenland and the Faroes were performed. As in previous years regular surveys were carried out on environmental samples from the Riso and Copenhagen area. (C.H.)
