Environmental radioactivity in the Faroes in 1972

Measurements of fallout radioactivity in the Faroes in 1972 are presented. /sup 90/Sr (and /sup 137/Cs in most instances) was determined in regularly collected samples of precipitation, grass, milk, lamb, fish, sea water, bread, and drinking water. In addition, analyses of spot samples of potatoes, sea plants, vegetables, eggs, and human bone were carried out. Estimates of the mean contents of /sup 90/Sr and /sup 137/Cs in the human diet in the Faroes in 1972 are given. (auth)
