ENVIRONMENTAL RADIOACTIVITY IN DENMARK IN 1962

Results are summarized from the measurement of fallout radioactivity in Denmark in 1962. Strontium-90 was determined in samples of precipitation, cultivated soil, grass, dried milk, fresh milk, grain, bread, potatoes, vegetables and fruit, total diet, and human bone. Furthermore Sr/sup 90/ was determined in local samples of air, rain water, grass, sea water, sea plants, animal bone, and humand milk. Estimates of the mean content of Sr/sup 90/ and Cs/ sup 137/ in the human diet in Denmark from 1962 are given. In the autumn a survey of the I/sup 131/ content of Danish milk was carried out. Results are also included from regular surveys of environmental samples from the Riso area. (C.H.)
