ENVIRONMENTAL RADIOACTIVITY IN DENMARK, 1960

Measurements were made of the background radioactivity in the Riso Area during 1960. Jike previous years the measurements include determination of beta -activity in a number of samples. Regular surveys were carried out on sea water, soil, air, bed-soil, eel, fresh water, precipitation, grass, sea plants, and milk. The program was extended so as to include Sr/sup 9//sup 0/ measurements on different sorts of food. Analyses were carried out on: milk, baby food, corn, and potatoes (country wide); bread, vegetables, fruit, imported food (Sealand), and total diets and drinkingwater (Riso). Furthermore, Sr/sup 9//sup 0/ was determined in hare bones, fish bones, and human teeth. Finally, a determination of the total fall-out in Sealand was carried out by means of a Sr/sup 9//sup 0/ analysis on soil. (auth)
