FISSION PRODUCT ACTIVITY LEVELS IN THE PRIMARY COOLANT OF PWR DURING CORE 1 SEED 1

The levels and distribution of fission products in the coolant of the Shippingport Pressurized Water Reactor were evaluated for the entire period of Seed 1. Recoil escape, defected UO/sub 2/ rods, and effect of pH on the deposition of alkaline earth fission products are discussed. The specific activities of all soluble fission products in the reactor coolant except Kr/sup 85m/ and Kr/sup 87/ showed an increase during operation. (M.C.G.)
