An in-pile test was conducted in the ORNL Graphite Reactor to determine the effects of l g vibration and radiation on the resistance of 12 trimpots, initially 5 x 10/sup 5/ ohms plus or minus 20%. No major change in the trimpot resistance was noted until the first weekly reactor shutdown after l48 hr operation (total dosage approximates 4.7 x 10/sup 17/ nvt), when 8 of the trimpots appeared to have opened at the wiper arm contact. The test was terminated after 1178 hr reactor operation (total dosage approximates 3.8 x 10/ sup 18/ nvt) with none of the trimpots operational. (D.L.C.)
