INVESTIGATION OF THE REACTION C$sup 12$$($$alpha$,4$alpha$) (in Russian)

The disintegration of the C/sup 12/ nucleus into three alpha particles under the action of 23-Mev alpha partcles is investigated. Space and energy distributions of the disintegration products and also the excitation energies of possible C/sup 12/ and Be/sup 8/ intermediated nuclei are given. It is found that the main mechanism of the investigated reaction is decay of the O/sup 16/ nucleus into four alpha particles with resonance interaction between the alpha particles in the ground state.
