GATED NANOSECOND PULSE SHAPER

A pulse shaper based on the recovery transient of a junction diode is described. The prototype is operative at 15 to 300 Mc and pulse widths are 8 nanoseconds at 15 Mc repetition rate, 4 nanoseconds at midband, and 1.4 nanoseconds at 300 Mc. The amplitude varies from 2.5 volts at the end points to 5 volts midband. (J.R.D.)
