A method is described for producing membrane filters containing radioactive nickel. The membrane filters have an activity of about 0.05 mu c/cm/ sup 2/. They are employed in the separation of aerosols where the quantity of collected material is determined by absorption of beta radiation. The lower limit of sensitivity for the method is 0.2 mg/cm/sup 2/. The possibility of constructing an automatic measuring apparatus for rapid determination of aerosol concentration is discussed.
