BS>An apparatus is designed for confining a plasma in a thermonuclear reactor so that all of the volume between the two confining surfaces is utilized as the reaction space while preventing loss of plasma particles by collision with the wall. The plasma is confined by two toroidal surfaces generated by a magnetic field surrounding an annular electrical conductor and is caused to rotate around the symmetry axis of the apparatus by an electric field generated between two electrodes located in the toroidal surfaces.
