THE EXCRETION OF DESOXYCYTIDINE FROM THE URINE OF RATS INFECTED WITH Po$sup 21$$sup 0$ (in Russian)
White male rats were inoculated with 0.05 mc/kg and 0.10 mc Po/sup 210/ kg of body weight. The total desoxyribose (Dische-positive substances) was determined on the 1st, 3rd, 6th, 9th, and 13th day after inoculation. The desoxycytidine content was determined by paper chromatography. The content of Dische-positive substances was found to have increased by 20 to 25% on the 3rd, 6th, and 9th day after inoculation with 0.l mc Po/sup 210//kg. The content of Dische-positive substances was normal with a dose of 0.05 mc Po/sup 210//kg of body weight. The excretion of desoxycytidine was increased by 37% on the first day, by 52% on the 3rd day, and by 14% on the 6th day after injection of Po/sup 210/. The amount of excreted desoxycytidine did not depend on the Po/sup 210/ dose or on the quantity of urine excreted. Dosage 25% decrease in urine output for the first few days after inoculation, a return to normal on the 3rd day, and an increase of 20 to 25% on the 6th day. Starvation of the rats on the days that the urine was collected (1st, 3rd, 6th, 9th, and 13th) did not have any effect on the amount of Dischepositive substances excreted in the urine. (TTT)
