THE EXCRETION OF DESOXYCYTIDINE WITH THE URINE IN ACUTE RADIATION SICKNESS (in Russian)
In experiments staged on irradiated rats (400, 700, and 800 r), a distinct rise of desoxycytidine excretion with the urine was revealed during the first day in all the animals. On the 3rd day this increase was changed by a normal content of the substance in the urine. Upon protection of the animals with cystamine in the majority of them there was no augmented discharge of desoxycytidine. The irradiation of dogs in a dose of 500 r was attended in the majority of cases by an elevated content of Diche-positive substances in the urine collected within the first 24 hours, The intensity of cysteine reaction in the urine of healthy persons and patients affected with different internal diseases ranges widely. In single irradiation of oncological patients (therapeutic x-ray dose) no augmented discharge of desoxycytidine with the urine could be revealed. (auth)
